My 15 Minutes of Fame
The blog post from the Salt Lake Tribune is, admittedly, rather delayed. However, I quite enjoyed it and wanted to share.

Utah State Capitol Formal Rededication
This last Friday, January 4th 2007, I was blessed to take part in the Utah State Capitol Formal Rededication. It was a very exciting event with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir with the Orchestra at Temple Square headlining. The sound was completely amazing echoing in that grand 150-foot-tall rotunda. The choir closed the hour long program with their renowned performance of, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”. I actually got to play in the Governor’s office right after the formal ceremony for the open house on a beautiful Steinway grand piano. I even met Carmen Rasmussen from American Idol. I actually didn’t realize it was her until she walked away. Funny was a small world it is!

Welcome to my new website!
Hello! Welcome to my revamped website! I am so excited and happy to announce the completion and release of my second album, SOLACE. This album is two years in the making and about 2 months of crunch time. This album was so much fun to create – everything from the song choices to recording sessions, to the photo shoot (I’m not gonna lie – that was a blast!), and it has been such a pleasure to work with such great people who have made this album and this website possible. There is no way that I could have done this alone.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has supported me in my musical endeavors. First off, thank you to all of the amazing people who have written me emails of thanks, appreciation, and inspiration. There would be no SOLACE if it weren’t for the outpouring of listener feedback that I got from my first album, SABBATH IMPRESSIONS. Thank you for buoying me up and inspiring me – you’ll never know how grateful I am for your loyalty and support.
Next, I’d like to express my appreciation to my family and loved ones. Not only have you been my sounding board through every step of this process (What do you think about this? What do you think about that? Seriously, did you really think that about this?), but you have encouraged and believed in me. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your help. Thank you for believing.
On to the purpose of this blog!!
Every song on this album was chosen for a reason – each one has touched me in a different way. So the purpose of my blog is to share with you (in addition to new events and goings on with my life and music) the ‘inside scoop’; rather, my insights into what the individual songs on the album mean to me and why I arranged them.
I will try my darndest to keep this blog updated and full of interesting little tidbits. Please, stay tuned, and thank you for visiting gingerfairbanks.com!!
